About
I've spent over 20 years as a carpenter — building houses, breaking my body, and spending so much time working outside that I lost my appreciation for the outdoors. Last year my Dad was diagnosed with cancer, and four months later he was gone. The abruptness of it made me realize I needed to do something different. There were things I still wanted to do on this planet, and that started with rediscovering the love for the outdoors I had in my youth.
Hellfire started with a promise I made to my Dad to start a company. He reminded me that life is short, and I took that to heart. I want to see the wildest parts of this country while I still can — and I want to build something of my own to get me there. I hope this company is my ticket to trading my tool belt for a hiking pack.
So Hellfire Tinder was born. Not because the world was asking for another fire starter, but because I knew I could make them better and sell them for less. Every product I make, I test myself. Every item I throw in the bag, I'd carry in my own kit. And the other guys have had their time at the top — I figure they could use some competition.
This is a one-man operation out of south-central Wisconsin. Every tab is hand-made, every bag is packed by me, and every order ships with more than you paid for — because that's how I'd want it if I were the one buying.
